Cover plates and socket types conform to DIN ISO 7368 (except for nominal diameters of 125 and 160).
1. Matching depth
2. Control dimensions
3. For the diameter of opening B (excluding the middle D3 or (ФD3*)), it is mandatory to calculate the distance from the cover plate mounting surface to the center of opening B.4. Port B can rotate around the central axis of Port A, but under no circumstances should it damage the fixed hole or the control hole.
5. Dowel pin hole
6. Pay attention to the mounting surface of the 16-port cover plate: The length L1 (with holes on the x-y axis) is 80 mm, and the control cover plate comes with a directional valve installed in the top-mounted orientation.
7. Hole Φ45 mm → Permitted H8 fitThe two-way cartridge valve is designed with a plug-in structure for use in integrated manifold blocks. The main valve assembly, equipped with oil ports A and B, is inserted into a socket on the control block that conforms to the DIN ISO 7368 standard and is then sealed by a control cover plate. In most cases, the cover plate serves as a connecting element between the control side of the main valve assembly and the pilot valve. By selecting an appropriate pilot valve to control the main valve, the main valve assembly can perform pressure control, directional control, flow throttling, or a combination of these functions. By matching the unique flow variations required by valves and actuators of different diameters, it is possible to achieve a specially optimized and cost-effective structural design. If the main valve assembly can perform more than one function, an even more cost-effective structural design can be realized.
Directional instructions
The basic components of a two-way cartridge valve mainly include the control cover plate (1) and the cartridge insert (2). The control cover plate is equipped with control ports, stroke limiters that can be selected according to functional requirements, and either a hydraulically controlled directional spool valve or a shuttle valve. Additionally, directional spool valves or directional seat valves can be mounted on top of the control cover plate. The cartridge insert consists primarily of a valve sleeve (3), an adjusting ring (4) (applicable only up to a nominal diameter of 32), a seat valve (5), optionally a damping cone with a damper (6), or alternatively a seat valve without a damping cone (7), as well as a return spring (8).
Function Description
The actuation of a two-way cartridge valve depends on pressure. Therefore, there are three critical pressure-bearing areas for valve actuation: A1, A2, and A3. The area of the valve seat (A1) is taken as 100%; depending on the valve type, the annular area (A2) is either 7% or 50% of A1. Consequently, the area ratio A1:A2 is either 14.3:1 or 2:1. The area (A3) is equal to A1 plus A2. Since the A1:A2 area ratio varies, the annular area A2 also differs accordingly. When the valve seat area A1 is 100%, the area A3 could be either 107% or 150%.
The following basic applications:
Areas A1 and A2 exert forces in the valve-opening direction. Areas A3 and the spring exert forces in the valve-closing direction. The effective direction of the resultant force—whether it’s an opening force or a closing force—determines the switching state of the two-way cartridge valve.
The flow direction of the two-way spool valve can be from A to B or from B to A. If the control pressure acting on area A3 comes from port B or if the control oil is supplied externally, port A will be closed and there will be no leakage.
